The stock exchange studies will be offered on an annual basis for a period of 5 years.

Every year, 100 students international students will benefit from the scholarship. Citizens of the following countries are eligible to participate in the programme:

• Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation ;
• Member States of the Non-Aligned Movement ;
• small island developing states ;
• Countries sharing common cultural, ethnic and historical links with Azerbaijan.

Objective

• The aim of the programme is to contribute to the development of human capital in other countries and to support education foreign nationals in Azerbaijan's higher education establishments by granting scholarships full-time at undergraduate (including general practice teaching), masters (including medical residency) and doctoral levels, as well as preparatory courses.

Levels of education and duration of the programme

• Degree programme : (4-5 years) This period is determined on the basis of the approved study programmes for each speciality.
• General medicine programme : (5-6 years) This period is determined according to the approved teaching programmes for each speciality.
• Master's programme : (1.5-2 years) This period is determined on the basis of the approved study programmes for each specialty.
• Medical residency program : (2 to 5 years) This period is determined on the basis of the approved study programmes for each speciality.
• PhD programme : (3 years)

The duration of the preparatory courses varies from 6 months to 1 year and is determined by the higher education institution.

Benefits

• Applicants approved for the scholarship will receive the following:
  • Tuition fees :
    • Tuition fees and preparatory language courses (depending on the language of instruction) for undergraduate, postgraduate, general medical, medical residency and doctoral studies.
  • International flights :
    • An international economy-class air ticket to Baku, Azerbaijan (from the country of origin) and from Azerbaijan (to the country of origin respectively) once a year.
  • Monthly allowance :
    • Monthly allowance of AZN 800 (USD 470) for accommodation, daily expenses and teaching materials (10 months each year, except July and August).
  • Medical insurance :
    • Annual allowance of AZN 200 (USD 117) for medical care and medication during the study period in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
  • Visa and registration :
    • A visa for the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as a temporary residence permit to stay in the country for the period of each academic year.

Eligibility criteria

• Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan or persons whose citizenship in the Republic of Azerbaijan has been revoked will not be considered for a scholarship.
• The age requirements for candidates are as follows:
  • Undergraduate and general medicine programmes - foreign nationals under 35 years of age on 15.09.2024 ;
  • Postgraduate and residency programmes in medicine - foreign nationals under 40 years of age on 15.09.2024 ;
  • Doctoral programmes - foreign nationals under 45 years of age on 15.09.2024.
• Proficiency in the language of study :
  • Candidates wishing to study in English must have the following scores:
    • for undergraduate programmes, minimum IELTS 5 (TOEFL 40) ;
    • for postgraduate programmes, minimum IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL 50) ;
    • the language of study for the previous course must be English.
    • Candidates wishing to study in Russian - proof of proficiency in the language or language of study of previous education must be Russian ;
    • Applicants wishing to study in Turkish - proof of proficiency in the language or language of study of previous education must be in Turkish;
    • Applicants wishing to study in Azerbaijani - proof of English, Russian or Turkish language or language of previous education must be English, Russian or Turkish.
• The higher education institution may examine the applicant's skills in terms of applied teaching and command of the language of study.
