InteRussia international relations scholarship programme

The Gortchakov Fund, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation, and MGIMO University have jointly launched the InteRussia scholarship programme for specialists in international relations.

Le programme is aimed at young foreign specialists in the history and theory of international relations, as well as in the sciences. policies and foreign regional studies.

During the course of the scholarship, participants will write research papers on subjects of interest to them under the guidance of academic advisers from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques. international MGIMO and the Institute of World Economics and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

About the programme
  • The Values and Institutions in the Changing World Order programme, run in partnership with MGIMO University, is an opportunity for non-Russian researchers to learn about the Russian agenda, attend lectures and workshops by their main partners, exchange experiences with counterparts from different countries and visit educational, scientific and socio-political venues.
  • Participants in the programme not only meet with leaders and representatives from various university schools and fields of study, but also work under the guidance of MGIMO's academic advisors while writing their own research papers.

Eligibility criteria
  • non-Russian nationality
  • Aged 25 to 39
  • residence outside Russia
  • professional command of English (CEFR C1 and above)
  • submission of a proposal research on the selected subject in accordance with the requirements specified in the application form
  • absence from any employment or other relationship with the MGIMO (including part-time external employment; a candidate must also not be studying in the postgraduate programme or defending a thesis at the MGIMO)
  • PhD or at least 3 years' professional experience in academic institutions/think tanks or postgraduate studies in progress
