Stimulating ideas workshop for scriptwriters, directors and creative producers

To encourage Breton professionals to create and collaborate at European level, the Région Bretagne/Rannvro Breizh/Rejion Bertègn and LIM|Less is More are offering up to 9 Breton participants the chance to take part in a six-day workshop from 20 to 25 October 2024, focusing on the creative process prior to writing.

The LIM Boosting Ideas workshop is designed to help scriptwriters and directors to delve into the emotion, structure and power of the story at an early stage, before embarking on the development in the long term and even before writing.

As for creative producers, the aim is to strengthen their ability to follow the development phase of feature film projects by discovering new tools to aid an exciting development process, and at the same time help the author to shape and reinforce both story and meaning.

They do not select the creative teams of a scriptwriter and a producer already working together. But the workshop week proposes to bring together a variety of filmmakers/professionals from different backgrounds, to explore the dynamics and get the best out of this collaboration.

LIM/Groupe Ouest brings fifteen years of research to the table methodologyCombining contributions from the cognitive sciences and the concrete results of successful experiments throughout Europe based on the concept of pre-writing tools.

Two international scenario consultants from LIM/Le Groupe Ouest will create a safe environment and invite participants to tackle ideas at an early stage and strengthen them before embarking on long-term development.

Eligibility criteria
  • Writers and directors apply with a project in the early stages or several ideas for a feature-length fiction film that they will be exploring throughout the week. It is not advisable to apply with a summary of an advanced script.
  • Creative producers apply without a project.
  • The workshop is also open to applicants from the theatre, documentary and visual arts.
