LAMDA and RD Studios are proud to announce the first 48-hour Film Festival. The LAMDA and RD Studios 48-Hour Film Festival is another exciting opportunity for budding filmmakers to showcase their talent and make a short film that will be reviewed by an esteemed panel of industry experts.

  • The prizes offered are not transferable and no other prizes will be provided.
  • Participants from outside the UK are welcome to attend, but travel and accommodation costs to attend events premises are not covered.
Length of the challenge and length of the film
  • Le film must be no longer than five minutes and no shorter than three minutes, including titles and credits.
Eligibility criteria
  • All ages can take part in the film festival, but must have a designated adult team leader (18+). This is a competition worldwide and there are no restrictions nationalHowever, participants must work to British time.
  • Your finished film must be no longer than five minutes and no shorter than three minutes (including credits and title card).
  • The film must be shot during the 48-hour film festival. You may not use footage from an earlier date unless it is images stock footage (please note that you will need to ensure that all stock footage has the necessary festival clearance - stock footage is unlikely to win as they prefer to encourage films shot entirely within 48 hours).
  • Films may be submitted in any language. The film must be subtitled in English if it is not in English.
  • Your film should start with five seconds of black followed by five seconds of a title card. The title card should include the name of your team and the title of the film.
