Applications are now open for the La SAIF-Benoît Schaeffer publishing bursary for a book of photography. The bursary is designed to support and enhance the career of a professional press or documentary photographer, and provide the necessary support for the publication of a printed book. The bursary is open to photographers resident in France who apply in association with a publishing house for the production of a book.

The SAIF would like to give photographer to publish his or her monograph, thereby promoting the dissemination of his or her photographic work. The aim of this grant is to encourage and showcase the photographic work of a professional press photographer and/or documentary photographer who needs support to create a printed monograph.
The SAIF undertakes to award an author a grant of ten thousand euros (€10,000) for a publishing project with a view to the publication of a monograph. The SAIF will pay this sum to winner selected by the Jury after signing the scholarship agreement.
Eligibility criteria
- The participants must meet each of the following criteria to be eligible to submit an application:
- Be a French or foreign author living in France;
- Be a professional press and/or documentary photographer;
- Present a monograph project. By monograph, they mean: either the work of a lifetime with several subjects dealt with; or a single work. work long-term work on a single subject. The photographer must not have previously published a work on his or her body of work or on the long-term subject. In the case of a project on long-term work, the photographer must have at least five years of career (with no minimum age requirement);
- Present a publication in association with a publisher.
