One Young World and Credit Suisse are seeking applications for the Investing for Life on Land challenge to identify and support high-impact businesses that seek to further close the gap in achieving SDG 15.


Credit Suisse invites entrepreneurs with for-profit businesses that contribute to improving life on earth, in whatever form, to submit their business plans for consideration.

Challenges

The challenge invites participants using examples, but not limited to, solutions that could protect and/or restore existing ecological resources. For example:

  • Reducing deforestation
  • Alternative farming
  • Strategies to preserve species
  • Nature-based solutions, such as mangroves offering coastal resilience and providing blue carbon credits for climate change adaptation and mitigation
  • Supporting the elimination of poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking
  • Conservation and sustainable use of ecological assets
Benefits 50 000 $ challenge Investing for life on earth

The winning solution will receive :

  • Sponsorship to attend the One Young World Summit 2022 in Tokyo from 16 to 19 May
  • 50,000 $ US grant from Credit Suisse
  • 12 months of mentoring by a team of professionals from Credit Suisse. The mentoring team will work to accelerate your solution based on the needs of your initiative or organization, such as:
    • Corporate strategy
    • Best practices for data collection
    • Control and assessment
    • Product design
Criteria 50 000 $ challenge Investing for life on earth
  • Aligned: obviously aligned with the challenge.
  • For-profit: the Credit Suisse Lead2030 Challenge is specifically designed to support a for-profit company.
  • Youth-led: Founded by a person aged between 18 and 30.
  • Focused: a well-structured timeframe, identified stakeholders and key beneficiaries, and reasonable and well thought-out proposed outcomes.
  • Market-ready: product/service already on the market or ready to be marketed.
  • Impactful: solutions must have a positive social impact, for example by creating jobs or developing skills.
  • Measurable: the impact of the solutions must have been properly measured and/or be measurable.
  • Financially viable: must be able to achieve efficiency and survive independently thanks to the resources they generate and/or the investments and donations they attract.
  • Scalable: Potential to perform as well or better after extending its range or size and/or being transported to other regions.
