As part of its grants programme, the International AIDS Society (IAS) is inviting young leaders to submit a proposal requesting up to US$10,000 to implement a six-month innovation that addresses a need in the HIV response for young people living with and affected by HIV.

Grants Programme, the IAS will support a new cohort of five young leaders with seed grants of USD 10,000 to scale up HIV-related innovation projects that address a locally defined need. Each young leader must be affiliated to and logistically supported by an organisation working in the field of HIV and/or sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) or other related fields.

- Start-up grant of USD 10,000 for the implementation and/or scaling-up of an innovative HIV-related project over a six-month period (from 1 January to 30 June 2023).
- Capacity building in monitoring and evaluation, reporting, communications and networking opportunities
- Travel to IAS 2023, the 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science, in Brisbane, Australia - funding pending
- Inclusion in the IAS 2023 Young Leaders programme.
Eligibility criteria
- The young leader must :
- Be put in touch with an organisation that is willing and able to provide mentoring and logistical support for the proposed Young Leaders project
- Be aged between 18 and 30 (and ideally under 25)
- Agree to be featured in IAS digital media
- Willing to participate in IAS 2023 from 23 to 26 July 2023 - funding pending
- The host organisation must :
- Be prepared to undergo eligibility checks with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) - information
- Be prepared to actively coach the young leader
- Be prepared to provide logistical support to its Young Leader in the day-to-day aspects of implementing their innovation project
- Be able and willing to report and communicate with the IAS in English.
