The African Union Commission (AUC), with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is delighted to launch the second Call for Civic Technology Innovation Grants in Africa to catalyse and scale innovative civic technology solutions that harness the power of technology to drive transformative citizen-led action on the African continent.

The process of grant is managed by continental partners, the Civic Tech Innovation Network (CTIN) and Ushahidi. The African Union Civic Technology Fund (AUCTF) offers dynamic African initiatives the opportunity to catalyse and scale-up their solutions innovative civic technologies. The winners of the call for grants will receive support from financial to develop and accelerate their civic technology projects and initiatives. Requests for funding must be aligned with the African Union's Agenda 2063 - the blueprint and blueprint for Africa to achieve its objective of inclusive and sustainable development.
In particular, the Fund responds to the need to promote meaningful citizen participation in areas of governance through the innovative use of data and digital technologies to meet the challenges of governance and the environment. developmentwhile recognising the central importance of Africa's youth in shaping the continent's future.

- You are an African organisation or initiative registered (or domiciled) in a member state of the African Union.
- Have a project that is committed to leveraging digital technology for civic engagement, transparency and community development.
- Are led by and target women, young people and marginalised groups in Africa.

- You are not eligible if you are :
- A former AUCTF beneficiary.
- An international or non-African entity (including a subsidiary of a global organisation).
- An unregistered entity.
- A company or government body.
- A blacklisted entity or individual.
