"The most important thing, I think, is to have led people to have confidence in themselves, to understand that at last they can sit down and write about their development, write about their happiness and say what they want. And at the same time, to feel what the price is for happiness".

Do you have an innovative idea or a sustainable solution with a social and environmental impact? Apply to the innovation preparation programme!

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) is calling for applications for the 2022 cohort of its Innovation Readiness Programme. The programme calls on young people with innovative ideas who are working towards the SDGs and looking to scale up their solutions.

The IRP, formerly known as the programme is a 16-week accelerator programme, launched for the first time in 2018. It will provide young innovators with valuable insights from leading experts in the field, one-to-one personalised mentoring and the opportunity to connect with different experts and stakeholders. Each week, participants will join a live online webinar; complete a component of their investment proposal and receive personal feedback on their documents from an expert in the field.

The programme will be run in collaboration with Babele, an open innovation platform that enables the cross-fertilisation of knowledge between stakeholders from different backgrounds and supports the incorporation of under-utilised ideas, technologies and information into active innovation processes. This would enable participants to build, adapt and monitor the progress of their solutions.

Successful applicants would be under 35 and have innovative solutions or ideas that target one or two sustainable development objectives to create a positive social impact.
