The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is seeking applications for financial support for eligible projects.


The CFC can offer a range of financial and technical support instruments to meet the specific needs of SMEs/enterprises, cooperatives and institutions along the commodity value chain in its member countries.

Mission: Contribute to poverty reduction by strengthening the income-generating capacity of commodity producers and reducing their vulnerability to economic hardship.

Vision : To strengthen and diversify the commodity sector in developing countries and transform it into a major contributor to poverty reduction and sustained economic growth and development.

With poverty reduction as its mission, the CFC will support proposals for investment in the poorest and most vulnerable people in global value chains, which may involve production, processing, finance, marketing, research, etc.

  • The EFA finances projects with loans and other forms of financing. instruments debt.
  • The maximum amount is USD 1.5 million for regular projects and up to USD 300,000 under the Fast-Track procedure.
  • However, they do show a degree of flexibility when they have projects with higher impacts and good financing cases.

  • The proposals of projects quality in LDCs (Least Developed Countries), LLDCs (Landlocked Developing Countries) and SIDS (Small Island Developing States) will be a priority to lift more people out of poverty.
  • The CFC hopes that its involvement will enable innovation for positive change in the value chain, providing more income for all participants, ensuring a fair distribution of benefits and contributing to the social and environmental well-being of its poorest participants at the bottom of the pyramid.
  • The CFC encourages applications offering innovative solutions for the commodities sector, such as new agrotechnological applications, agroforestry, innovative productivity practices on the theme of agro-ecology, regenerative technologies, increasing the availability of renewable and affordable energy, expanding environmental services, accelerating digital and green recovery, adding to nutritional security, climate-friendly practices contributing to biodiversity, preventing deforestation, digitisation, blockchain and other traceability solutions.
  • Funding can be provided in the form of loans for capital expenditure, working capital or trade finance to invest in productivity and value chain improvements. Applications must clearly demonstrate operational and financial viability, and be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Women entrepreneurs are particularly encouraged to apply.
