Applications are now open for the iF Social Impact Awards to support projects that contribute to the betterment of society. If you are working to achieve one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, your project is eligible.


Categories
  • Putting an end to poverty : Since 1990, extreme poverty rates have been reduced by 50 %. But one person in five in developing regions still lives on less than $1.90 a day.
  • Putting an end to hunger : It's time to rethink the way they grow, share and consume food if they are to feed today's 795 million hungry people.
  • Healthy lives : Sustainable development depends on ensuring a healthy life. Additional efforts are needed to increase life expectancy.
  • Quality education : Basic literacy skills have improved considerably, but bolder efforts are needed to achieve the goals of universal education.
  • Gender equality: The Equality for women and girls is not only a fundamental human right, it will fuel sustainable economies and benefit society as a whole.
  • Water and wastewater: in Poor infrastructure means that millions of people die from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene.
  • Clean energy : The aim is universal access to modern energy services, improved efficiency and more renewable energy sources.
  • Economic growth : Creating quality jobs will remain a major challenge for almost all economies in the future.
  • Resilient infrastructure : Without technology and innovation, industrialisation will not happen, and without industrialisation, development will not happen.
  • Reducing inequalities everywhere : To reduce inequalities, policies must be universal and pay attention to the needs of disadvantaged and marginalised populations.
  • Sustainable Cities and Communities Cities enable people to progress socially and economically, but some face congestion, a shortage of suitable housing and declining infrastructure.
  • Sustainable consumption : Responsible consumption and production is about "doing more and better with less", resource and energy efficiency and access to a better quality of life for all.
  • Climate action : Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent, disrupting national economies and affecting lives.
  • Life underwater : Prudent management of this essential global resource is a key element of a sustainable future.
  • Life on earth: the Forests cover 30 % of the Earth's surface and are essential for combating climate change, protecting biodiversity and the homes of the indigenous population.
Information on the iF 2022 Social Impact Prize applications

The cash prize of €100,000 will be donated by iF. It can be awarded to a single project or split between several projects. In May and November 2022, the members of the annual rotation team will decide on the winners of the iF SSocial Impact 2022 prize and will distribute the cash prize.

Eligibility criteria
  • Companies, design studios, NGOs, NGOs foundationsSocial enterprises, public organisations and others are all welcome.
  • Your project must already be established and you can apply with the same project a maximum of twice.
  • Student concepts will not be accepted.
  • Publish your project on the iF Design website and you will automatically be entered for the prize.
