At a time when communities around the world are facing unprecedented challenges in As a result of climate change, humanitarian and development practitioners are rapidly adapting the way they deliver aid and services. programmes essential.
SCALE wants the world to know about your good work! Tell them about the innovations and adaptations in your creative programme and how they are addressing the constraints and challenges of climate change in agriculture, natural resource management (NRM) and non-farm and non-farm livelihoods.
Examples may include, but are not limited to:
- Introducing new climate-smart approaches and technologies
- The provision of products or services that help to adapt to or mitigate climate change
- New approaches to creating "green jobs
- Adopt new digital technologies, applications or social media that support climate change objectives
- New business strategies to support climate-friendly supply chains
- Innovative and inclusive strategies for data collection and monitoring
Price details
The winners of the Creative Green Adaptation Award will be selected by the SCALE Technical Committee, the Donor Panel and the public vote in November in parallel with the COP26 events. The winning approaches will be presented in a Spotlight webinar in early December and documented in a technical note. The winning adaptations will also be highlighted on the DSF page and in the newsletter to raise awareness about innovations and the change agents responsible for them.
Categories
- Award for technical excellence in situation emergency (selected by the SCALE Technical Committee)
- Award for technical excellence in a development environment (selected by the SCALE Technical Committee)
- Donor's Choice Award (selected by a select group of donor representatives)
- People's Choice Award (selected via an open voting platform)
Submission guide
The submitted vlog must not exceed 3 minutes. Submissions exceeding 3 minutes may be disqualified;
- Videos must be uploaded as a single high-quality file in a standard YouTube format (16:9 format).
- Videos must be in MP4 format and the file size of each video must not exceed 1 GB.
- Videos must not contain music, images or brand names protected by copyright without prior authorisation.
- They will provide subtitles for videos submitted in French, Spanish, Arabic or Kiswahili.
Judging criterion
Judges will be looking for engaging and inspiring vlog submissions. Your survey and video will be judged on :
- Relevance of your entry to climate resilient and green livelihood approaches and/or COP26 objectives
- Technical quality of the innovation/adaptation (particularly for the "Technical Excellence" awards)
- Creativity and inspiration
- Potential for replication and impact
