Nominations are now open for the AFRICA CEO Forum (ACF) 2022 Awards in the Gender Leader category.


The Gender Leader Trophy celebrates the companya company active in Africa, which has distinguished itself by its efforts to increase the number of women in its executive bodies (board of directors, top management, etc.), with a strategy to promote female leadership and social initiatives that encourage the inclusion of women more generally.

Eligible candidates Gender Leader in Africa
  • Any company or group companies active in Africa. For multinationals not headquartered in Africa, only aspects relating to Africa are taken into consideration.
  • Application by dossier, nomination by a third party (company or individual), or identification by the AFRICA CEO FORUM editorial team.
  • The winner of the "Gender Leader - 2019" award is not eligible to compete.
Gender Leader in Africa criteria
  • Female CEO (or female African CEO for multinationals)
  • Representation of women on the board of directors of the company and its subsidiaries (only in Africa for non-African multinationals)
  • Number of women appointed to the board(s) of directors of the company and its subsidiaries in the past year (only in Africa for non-African multinationals)
  • Number and percentage of women on the group executive committee (only in Africa for non-African multinationals)
  • Number and percentage of women appointed to management positions in the past year (only in Africa for non-African multinationals)
  • Share of women in the company
  • Corporate strategy for female leadership
