Association Burkinabè de Fundraising

"The most important thing, I think, is to have led people to have confidence in themselves, to understand that at last they can sit down and write about their development, write about their happiness and say what they want. And at the same time, to feel what the price is for happiness".

Assessing for Effective Mobilisation of Support

Three community development associations have just completed the 3rd phase in Support Mobilisation.

From Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 July 2022, the second phase of the 7th Support Mobilisation Pathway was held at the premises of the Burkinabe Fundraising Association.

Three community development associations from the Ouagadougou area took part in this three-day training. They were the Association Delwendé pour le Promotion Sociale de Personnes en Situation de Handicap et défavorisées du Burkina (ADPSPHDB), the Association pour la Réinsertion Sociale des Déshérités (APRED) and the Association Wend Manegda, pour le Développement Social : Bianca Couture.

The overall objective of this session was to start Module 6 of the Support Mobilisation Training, which is an evaluation module. It was also important to understand the activities being carried out.

The general objective of this session was to introduce module 6 of the Support Mobilisation training, namely Evaluation. It was also important to take stock of the activities carried out and the difficulties encountered in order to identify the future.

On the whole, the associations were able to build relationships and visit the local businesses they had identified. This is the case of the Delwendé association for the social promotion of handicapped and disadvantaged people in Burkina Faso, which thanks to their efforts were able to mobilise the sum of 500,000 CFA francs (757.67 €) from the EBOMAF company.

Despite the difficulties encountered, such as the unavailability of certain actors, the postponement of appointments and, above all, the lack of security, the associations made appointments with these companies for visits and undertook to diversify their communication channels for greater visibility in order to gain more support.

The participants expressed their satisfaction with the holding of this session which will enable them to acquire knowledge and skills.
