Association Burkinabè de Fundraising

"The most important thing, I think, is to have led people to have confidence in themselves, to understand that at last they can sit down and write about their development, write about their happiness and say what they want. And at the same time, to feel what the price is for happiness".
Thomas SANKARA

Information on financing

They will award the most promising teams up to USD 20,000 to launch their new organisation wherever extreme poverty exists.

Managing winning projects

In addition to direct funding, D-Prize can help your business attract future funding if the pilot project proves successful. They will also give you access to the D-Prize network of past winners and do their best to support you in other ways.

Eligibility criteria
  • The D-Prize is aimed at budding entrepreneurs from all over the world, of all ages and backgrounds. The majority of their winners have neither launched nor raised any funding.
  • They will only consider funding existing organisations if you are distributing an existing intervention and have a high-risk capital requirement that cannot be supported by your current donors or income.
  • Existing organisations applying for the D-Prize must not have been in operation for more than 18 months and must not have raised more than 30,000 $ in external funding.
  • They apologise, but at the moment they can only assess applications submitted in English. However, your English doesn't have to be perfect to apply, and grammatical and vocabulary errors won't be penalised. They just want to understand your idea.
