Association Burkinabè de Fundraising

"The most important thing, I think, is to have led people to have confidence in themselves, to understand that at last they can sit down and write about their development, write about their happiness and say what they want. And at the same time, to feel what the price is for happiness".
Thomas SANKARA

Yanyema Association in support of IDPs.

The Yanyema Association mobilises resources and support to help internally displaced people.

The Yanyema Association operates in the eastern region of Burkina Faso. Food and nutritional security, the management Natural resources, emergency response to crises, health, education, water, hygiene and sanitation, governance and microfinance are just some of the areas in which they operate.

Faced with the large influx of people fleeing conflict zones, the Yanyema association has taken the initiative of organising a campaign to mobilise support and local resources to help IDPs. The beneficiaries are young people and women in the Fada NGourma area.

A number of activities were carried out during the campaign. These included

  • Support from local authorities and NGOs raised 375,000 CFA francs (€573.53);
  • Advocacy with traditional and religious leaders, opinion leaders and CHWs in support of the mobilising support for IDPs ;
  • An awareness-raising campaign using local radio stations, social networks, posters and training for community relays on the need for support for IDPs.

Themes such as social cohesion, empowerment of women and young people through the creation of IGAs and techniques for finding financial resources were also developed for the benefit of women and young IDPs. Other activities, such as ticket sales, raised 700,000 CFA francs (€1070.58). This modest sum was used to reward women through the organisation of a cycle race.
