Association Burkinabè de Fundraising

"The most important thing, I think, is to have led people to have confidence in themselves, to understand that at last they can sit down and write about their development, write about their happiness and say what they want. And at the same time, to feel what the price is for happiness".
Thomas SANKARA

Diary: The Burkinabe Fundraising Association (ABF) presents its missions to the Director General of Local Authorities.

On Friday 24 May 2024, in Ouagadougou, a delegation from the Burkinabe Fundraising Association (ABF), led by its Director General, Mr Abdoulaye SAWADOGO, was granted audience by Mr Soumaila SANKARA, Technical Support Officer at the Directorate General of Local Authorities (DGCT), representing the Director General, Mr Issoufou KONGO. According to the hosts of the day, the aim of this meeting was to present ABF, its vision and its missions to the Managing Director and his staff.
At the end of the meeting, the ABF's training coordinator, Débé MALO, said that his organisation was involved in capacity-building for community-based organisations and local authorities, and in mobilising support and resources. He explained that the Association has been in existence since 2008, and to date has trained 118 associations from seven French-speaking African countries. He was also delighted with the quality of the discussions with the representatives of the various departments of the Directorate-General for Local Government (DGCT). "We had a very fruitful discussion with our contacts. We intend to forge a solid partnership with the DGCT. A partnership that will enable us to see what prospects we can develop together, in order to boost development at local level.
On behalf of the Director General, Mr SANKARA thanked the ABF for this participatory approach, and expressed the DGCT's willingness to support any action that contributes to the development of local authorities.
