From 1 September to 1 November 2021, cities in UNESCO Member States can apply to join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC).
The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) is an action-oriented international network that provides inspiration, expertise and good practice. Members of the UNESCO GNLC benefit from sharing lifelong learning policies and practices, generating and exchanging knowledge on key challenges and solutions, capacity building and training initiatives, and participating in global events such as the International Conference on Learning Cities.
The 229 members of the network work in clusters on key issues such as education for sustainable development, equity and inclusion, health and well-being. During the COVID-19 pandemic, UNESCO's learning cities worked closely together to share good practices, strategies and activities to ensure that learning does not stop for young and old.
