The Regional Leadership Centre (RLC) of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is calling for applications for the West Africa Emerging Leaders Programme.

What they offer

• Business and entrepreneurship
  • This track is aimed at the range of emerging and aspiring entrepreneurs who expect to take on leadership roles in the private sector or set up their own business ventures on the continent.
• Management of civil society
  • This track is for those who are or aspire to be civically engaged and serve the public through non-governmental organisations, community organisations or volunteering.
• Public policy and management
  • This track is suitable for those working or aspiring to work at any level of government (including elected positions), regional organisations such as the African Union or the West African Community, international organisations such as the United Nations, or other public sector organisations or think tanks.

Reasons to apply to YALI Accra RLC

• At the end of the programme, participants will receive certificates and become members of the prestigious YALI Alumni
• Participants will undergo various forms of leadership training to prepare them for leadership roles in their various organisations, communities and countries.
• Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, ethnic origin, colour, gender, religion, socio-economic status, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity. The management of the YALI Regional Leadership Centre, West Africa - Accra reserves the right to verify all information provided by applicants during the application process.

Eligibility criteria

• The competition for the YALI West Africa Regional Leadership Centre is merit-based and open to young West African leaders who meet the following criteria:
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of application;
  • Are citizens and residents of one of the following countries Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Burkina Faso.
  • You are not a US citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Are eligible to receive any necessary visa for Ghana, and
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking English.
