Types of challenge

ELECTRONICS: They are looking for new solutions that use low-impact materials and energy-efficient processes in the design and production of printed circuit boards, which have traditionally had a negative impact on the environment.
ENERGY STORAGE AND MANAGEMENT: Are you looking for safer, more scalable and cost-effective electronics for high-capacity batteries and energy storage? Our customers are looking for solutions that offer alternatives to lithium and cobalt, as well as battery recycling techniques.
TRANSDUCERS AND ACTUATORS: There are currently no commercially viable solutions for magnetic alternatives and efficient electromechanical designs in audio or other consumer electronics. They are looking for innovative ideas to fill this gap.
MATERIALS: Their aim is to minimise energy consumption and reduce environmental impact while maximising supply chains. They want to hear from you if you have a material alternative that reduces weight, increases strength, reduces carbon footprint and is biosourced / biodegradable or renewable.

The Future Positive Challenge is aimed at disruptive companies, start-ups and pioneering engineers who want to lead change in a multi-billion dollar industry. As a sustainability-minded partner looking to make an impact on the world, you understand that the consumer electronics industry must balance available resources with environmental impact. Apply if you're looking for meaningful connections to grow your business.
Registered organisations of all sizes and types are invited to apply, including start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), innovative companies and higher education establishments (universities, research institutes). They are not currently accepting applications from individuals.
