About us

The mission of the African Academy of Sciences is to serve, firstly, as an honorary society with the primary function of honouring African scientific and technological achievements and, secondly, as a development-oriented mobiliser of the African scientific and technological community as a whole with the fundamental role of facilitating the development of scientific and technological capacity for science-driven development in Africa, promoting excellence and relevance in this regard.
